Los Angeles Convention Center & Tampa Teams Earn 5-Stars From Smart City

Earn perfect scores for data, customer service, business practices and more

LAS VEGAS – Smart City, the nation’s leading provider of telecommunications, technology and logistics solutions for the meeting and convention industry, congratulates the hospitality staff members at the Tampa Convention Center and the Los Angeles Convention center for earning Smart City’s 5-Star Achievement Award for 2015.

Smart City’s Corporate 5-Star Excellence Program provides a checklist and performance-measuring rubric covering worker safety, staff competence and certification, customer service, business administration, and digital network integrity. Stars are earned based on how many standards are met. All of the teams strive for quality service and operational excellence and the teams in Tampa and Los Angeles exceeded expectations. To achieve their 5-Star designation, the employees in Tampa and Los Angeles earned 46 points above and beyond the 10 mandatory standards.

“The teams in Los Angeles and Tampa have set an enviable model of event management, technical expertise, and sales and customer satisfaction,” said Mark Haley, president of Smart City. “While all of our cities provide great service and top-notch technology, these two teams were truly 5-star performers in all aspects.”

The Los Angeles team led by General Manager Henry De La Rosa includes Operations Manager Matt Chavez, Customer Sales and Service Manager Robbie Bridges, Data Manager Terry Grass, Events Coordinator Paula Ruiz, Customer Service and Sales Representative Juan Carlos, and Technicians Abel Soto, Adolfo Ramirez, Dashawn Pierce and Chris DuPont.

General Manager Mitchell Hughes leads Tampa’s team, assisted by Customer Sales and Service Representative Jackie Gonzalez and Technician Ivan Gutierrez.
