The Los Angeles Convention Center Looks Back on Four Years with AEG Facilities
December 5, 2017 (Los Angeles, CA) - December 8th marks AEG Facilities and the City of Los Angeles four-year anniversary of a successful partnership. The private and public entities have worked together to refresh the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), turning the facility into an economic driver for Downtown Los Angeles. The City’s original goals for AEG Facilities in taking over LACC management were to: generate an operational surplus each year, build a 10% budget reserve within 5 years, increase revenues, book more events- particularly citywide conventions. Since assuming management in December of 2013, AEG Facilities has exceeded all of the City’s goals and expectations with an operating surplus year after year, a healthy reserve of $7.1 million, reinvesting more than $40 million in building improvement and alteration projects, increasing citywide conventions, and the reimbursement of $7.7 million to the City of Los Angeles for the Department of Convention & Tourism Development (CTD) overhead since privatization, all while elevating LACC brand recognition, sustainability metrics, and community involvement projects.
Convention Center Generates Record Breaking $781 Million in Economic Impact for The City of Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA (September 12, 2017) The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), professionally managed by AEG Facilities, reported generating a record-breaking economic impact of $781 million for the City of Los Angeles in fiscal 2016/2017 with $478 million attributed to convention attendees direct spending. An additional $26.4 million was generated in tax revenues to the City, with $18.2 million in hotel transient-occupancy tax contributions to the City’s general fund. This is an increase over $90 million in total economic impact over last fiscal year.

Los Angeles, CA (July 27, 2017) The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), managed by AEG Facilities, closed its Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-2017 with the largest financial and operational surplus, highest occupancy rate and hosted the most Citywide conventions and special events in the LACC’s 46-year history. The LACC reported an operating surplus of over $10.2 million; a 5% jump from the year prior. The impressive FY 2016-2017 results are not only in financial performance but also increases in total attendance and Citywide convention bookings, building improvement projects, sustainability metrics, positive client survey results and community involvement and corporate responsibility projects.

Along with other Fourth of July activities, Anime Expo will be taking place July 1 through 4 at the L.A. Convention Center. This means there will be heavy crowds converging in the downtown area that weekend.
To avoid traffic and a long search for pricey parking, Go Metro instead.

Joining More Than 50 AEG Facilities-Affiliated Venues in a Global Call to Action in Support of the Environment
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 17, 2016) On March 19th, 2016, the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) will join millions of people and organizations worldwide in “going dark” for World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour, a worldwide grassroots movement uniting people to protect the planet. From 8:30 to 9:30 PM, the LACC will turn off its non-essential lights, primarily focusing on West and South Hall towers, as a symbolic call to action to protect our planet. As part of a global Earth Hour campaign organized by AEG 1EARTH, AEG’s industry-leading corporate sustainability program, the LACC joins more than 50 AEG Facilities-affiliated venues in 27 cities, eight countries and four continents across the globe in celebrating its commitment to the environment.
#101SlowJam This Weekend - 101 FWY Closure Reminder!
The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering has announced that US Rte 101 will be closed for 40 hours to enable safe demolition of a section of the Sixth Street Viaduct, located over the freeway. The 40-hour full freeway closure on US Rte 101 through downtown LA will take place starting Friday Feb. 5th at 10 p.m. to Sunday Feb. 7th at 2 p.m.

LA Convention Center Kicks Off the New Year with Fit Expo 2016
This year kicked off right with the LA Fit Expo, where nearly 60,000 expected attendees were on hand to share their love of fitness and health.
The conference and exhibition was held Jan. 23-24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. With so much going on at the show, it was hard to know where to go first. And, with the two-day format, attendees packed the floor to get in as much as possible.

THE LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER ANNOUNCES LEED GOLD RECERTIFICATION
LOS ANGELES – Mayor Garcetti today announced that the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), professionally managed by AEG Facilities, has become the largest convention center in America to be recertified at the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold level. The venue first achieved Gold certification in 2010.
Los Angeles Is Big Draw for Manufacturing Show Westec 2015
Westec 2015 proved to be the place to be for the manufacturing industry. More than 11,000 attendees (up nearly 5 percent from 2013) and 400-plus exhibitors from more than 500 manufacturing companies used the 103,600 square feet of show floor space to learn, connect and discover.
This year’s show was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and the location was no accident.
